Heterogeneous compute platforms such as AMD Versal offer engines tailored for various compute application categories. A successful system realization begins with the optimal hardware composition, comprising various compute engines, memories, I/Os and interconnects. This has to account for system data flow and performance requirements. In this hardware platform, applications for various compute elements can be designed, verified and compiled independently using respective compilers. Finally, a system level linking process combines heterogeneous firmware components to form the complete system image. This training will introduce System Architecture along with both hardware and software design flows.
