Embedded development using AMD hardware programmable platforms like adaptive SOCs and FPGAs require a competence of hardware and software programming. This PLC2 Easy Start workshop is a kick-off to learn both with that essential knowledge. For FPGA devices you will include a soft-processor core and for adaptive SoC devices you can extend the peripheral and memory profile. For both approaches, the Vivado™ tool needs to manage the embedded hardware configuration. Using Vitis™ you will import the embedded hardware platform, manage the software drivers and software libraries to create and debug the C-based application with the debugger tool. The attendees will learn how a running system can be extended in hardware on memory and peripheral side and supporting those features with the bare metal application software. In this course, a peripheral module from an ECO partner is provided where attendees learn to integrate a new functionality to the embedded project. This Easy Start training is recommended for beginners who want a practical focus on managing the embedded design development. Due to accompanying exercises, the course offers in-depth and practice-oriented training.
